Tired after a big day!

Waking up in the morning with Ken

Visiting a care point

Grocery shopping!
We finally got to meet little Mukelo! It is weird holding her and sitting right next to her after only being able to look at her picture on the computer. We arrived in Swaziland on Friday, November 30th tired, yet anxious to meet Mumu. We eventually got settled in to the McAdams house on Friday evening, and we awaited the arrival of Mumu on Saturday morning. It felt strange going to bed that night, knowing a little baby would be sleeping in the crib next to our bed the next night.

We have enjoyed every minute getting to know Mumu and all of her needs! She has such a sweet personality and she loves to talk to us. We are beginning to figure out which noises may mean she is hungry or tired, and which ones are simply conversation with us. We are figuring out that she loves to sit out on the porch with us and listen to all of the sounds from outside. She loves to stare at Christmas lights and she likes to be held and close by us. We have been putting her in the stroller in the kitchen while we make dinner just because she wants to be near us. There are so many things that we are learning about her although she cannot talk or communicate in a way that is easy to understand.

Mumu has trouble eating, and sometimes her feedings seem to take close to an hour. However, it is so satisfying to watch her finish a bottle or a bowl of cereal. Yesterday she had 4 bowls of cereal instead of the normal 3 bowls! We have to be pretty patient with this process, but we enjoy it a lot. I think one of our favorite times with her is her bath time. Although it's a pretty short process, she is so relaxed and she loves the water. We love getting her ready for bed and she seems to feel so good once she is clean. She is very cuddly after this process and it is just a nice transition to have before bedtime.

We are obviously just at the beginning with taking care of Mumu and getting to know her. However in just these few short days our hearts have grown to love her. She does not realize the impact she is making on so many people and Kenny and I do not know everything the Lord is using/teaching us with her for our own lives but we are thrilled he has allowed us to be a part of her life for this short time!
